Some pictures from its build up

This is the raw underframe of the module. The rectangle box in the middle of the construction shows the lightweight technique used for the first time in our club with this module. The riverbed is recessed to allow minimum overall height.

This is the finished underframe with the construction of the bridge and dam already added. The dam is made of styrofoam to save weight compared with a construction out of wood or plaster.

Some parts of the bridges are taped together to get a first impression of the scene. Since this shot has been taken the design of the bridge was changed from one to two support piles with two short parts leading to the wide section over the water. The main bridge is as well reduced to a two track design with the third constructed as an add on. In this view one can see that the module level is about 2'' lower than track level.

One course covered landscaping techniques. The use of grass material was demonstrated along with ballasting methods.

A few simple but effective technices let that wall look pretty real, and the finishing touch has not yet been applied...

Still under construction the bridge is already used by heavy trains.

A heavy 2-8-8-2 rumbles over the finished bridge.

John's the one fishing while Mike waits for his luch to bite...

The arrangement of the bridge changed during its construction as you might see comparing this shot with the one above.

The full lenght of the bridge.

Thats how the construction of the legs look like.

The module is now ready for shipping!

Two more pictures taken at the early morning of the Convention.

The bridge did not cause any problems at the Convention. This is one of the first trains passing at Alexandria.
